A wide linen-textured mat in a warm cream or light beige tone, gives it a classic, archival look. It has a double mat, with a narrow inner mat (or liner) in a slightly darker, coordinating neutral that creates depth and visually separates the artwork from the outer mat.
A wood frame with a stepped (tiered) profile, finished in a warm gold or antique bronze tone. The subtle ridges and layered molding give it a refined, traditional feel without being overly ornate.

His work is deeply influenced by Asian art, particularly woodcuts, which inform his approach to composition and abstraction. Hayslette's ability to see and depict the abstract in his subjects is a defining characteristic of his art.
