I don't have too much information on this antique rocking chair but here is what I know. The label, which is very hard to read, states that it was made by Heywood Brothers and Wakefield Company. This means it was made between 1897 and 1921, before the name was shortened to Heywood-Wakefield. All the labels from this timeframe show either Gardner, Wakefield, Baltimore, or New York City. I have yet to come across one with this type of label that was made in Boston.
