Scheurich Keramik was established n Germany in 1928. They began ceramic production in 1954 and became renowned for their innovative layers of glaze on a single piece of ceramic, called "fat lava". The production number 221-44 is incised on the bottom of the pot, which dates the production of this seventeen inch art pottery piece to 1960-1970. Quintessential mid-century, fun and funky!
