Job Title: Supervised Visitation Staff
Department: Supervised Visits
Reports To: Program Director
Pay Structure: Hourly
Employee Status: 1099-Private Contractor
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: To serve as an observer and monitor of family visits involving one or both parents and one or more children of families who may be involved in a reunification process through the Department of Children and Families. Staff will provide suitable space for family interaction while being within visual and auditory proximity of family visit.
Participate in a pre-service meeting with family and other appropriate personnel to discuss guidelines and service expectations.
Safely transport child and or parent to and from visitation site.
Schedule and maintain regular visits with assigned family according to pre-approved weekly/monthly hours of service.
Provide visual and auditory observation of family visit, with emphasis on healthy relationship development, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate behaviors.
Provide redirection of parent and child as needed regarding interpersonal communication.
Prepare and submit detailed summary of parental visit to agency and DCF within defined timeframe.
Communicate effectively with parent(s), clinicians, and agency personnel regarding changes in schedule, as well as sharing pertinent information and concerns regarding client behavior and safety issues.
Participate in monthly case supervision with assigned supervisor.
Complete and submit timecards within defined timeframes.
Participate in case planning meetings if required.
Maintain ongoing communications with assigned program supervisor.
OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Attend all scheduled meetings and trainings as required
Participate in case planning meetings
Complete Mandated Training every 3 years or as required
Must be at least 21 years of age
Bachelor Degree in related human services field
First Aid and CPR certification
Valid driver's license
Vehicle in clean and good working condition
Minimum auto insurance level of $100,000/$300,000 per accident are required
Previous work experience with difficult to serve youth or families is desired
Effective written and oral communication and relationship building skills
Spanish Speaking a Plus!
