VTG EMERSON MULTIPLEX FM/AM PHONO CASSETTE RECEIVER RECORDER SUPR CLEAN WORKING?
!!!Comes with a free DVD player.!!!
This is a bad --- looking receiver to my eyes with the metal black faceplate, white display, large knobs, makes it say "look at me"! I've waited for almost a year to list this trying to find another one for pricing, no luck.

Has minor user marks here and there on it to my eyes. Please see the many pictures to make your own determination.
Please note I did pick up some reflections in some of the pictures, these are not imperfections.

Please note: This belonged to my mother's husband, a collector of electronics and speakers who passed and this will be one of many items of his collection we will be selling. We will do our best to answer any questions but note that none of these items were ours.

From a clean and smoke free home.

Buy with some confidence that receiver was tested to the best of my ability without an owners manual and was used for a month plus and this is what I came up with.
On the front: Powers right up and all lights for the display appear to light up. Cassette working (tape head might need a clean) as well as the signal meter as well as tape counter. AM/FM working as well as the signal (see pictures) meter and both meters light up. Red selector lights for AM/FM, tape, phono, aux, light up when selected. Volume knob, bass, treble, balance, selectors working as well as speaker A/B filter on/off for both high and low, as well as loudness, mode stereo/mono, tape monitor, and head phone jack and stereo light indicator.
I did not test record feature, don't know how.
Trim around the tape deck door looks a little wrinkly-aged?
The wood case I believe is a vinyl wrap and looks very good to my eyes.
On the back: Phono, aux, inplay all working, record out not tested.
Antenna hookup for AM/FM working.

The question mark after the word working is that both speaker outputs are working but the left side plays at a much lower volume level. They use an RCA type speaker input rather than bare wire and the board the RCA inputs are on appears a little loose and inside the hole a little corrosion. I don't know if that could be the problem. Also, the tuning knob (turns freely) does not turn the indicator.
When the cover was removed to see if the string was broken it was not, but I did find a spring hanging where the tuning part is and when I touched it, it fell off (see last picture), I put it in a plastic bag and it will come with the unit.
I did not mess around to see how to hook it back up for I don't like to touch things that I don't know about.

How's it sound? I tested this Emerson using Canton LE speakers and though with the low volume on the left side it still sounded great to my ears, I can only imagine how great it would sound if the left side played as loud as the right.

Comes with a free DVD player.
