Discover the Power of Choice in Addiction and Substance Abuse Recovery!

SMART Recovery® is a modern, science-based addiction recovery support group, where participants learn self-empowering techniques to aid their recovery. No matter what your addiction, SMART Recovery tools and techniques can help you overcome the behavior. SMART Recovery uses tools based on scientifically proven methods for addiction recovery such as Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques.

Our 4-point program offers tools and techniques for:
1 ~ Building and Maintaining Motivation
2 ~ Coping with Urges
3 ~ Managing Thoughts, Feelings, and Behaviors
4 ~ Living a Balanced Life

SMART Recovery advocates choice, so that those seeking recovery can choose what works best for them from a variety of options. The SMART Recovery goal is for you to achieve a healthy, positive and balanced lifestyle and to "graduate" when you feel your addictive behavior is behind you, not to remain a life-long participant in the program.

We hold six meetings each week in the New Haven area. Our Saturday morning meetings are held at the Wilson Branch of the New Haven Free Public Library from 10:15 to 11:45 AM, weather permitting.

There's free parking in the library's lot, which is easily reached from Daggett Street, or drive around the library from Washington Ave. (Warning: Daggett is a one-way street!) The main entrance to the library is at the corner of Washington and Daggett, although you may be able to enter through the community room from the parking lot.

THERE WILL BE NO MEETING ON FEBRUARY 17 AS THE LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE PRESIDENTS' DAY WEEKEND.

This is an open meeting. You are not required to RSVP before attending. You are not required to use your name or participate if you don't wish to. We do ask participants to respect the privacy of other attendees.

See https://smartrecoveryct.org for more information. All New Haven-area meetings are listed on our Meetup site, https://www.meetup.com/SMART-Recovery-Connecticut/, which is the best place to check for weather-related cancellations.

You can learn more about SMART Recovery and register for online meetings on the international web site at http://www.smartrecovery.org
