THIS OLD PIANO TM.
WINTER ADVISORY!!!

Did you know pianos go out of tune with the annual shift of humidity in your house?

Here are some easy old school tips from This Old Piano tm. to help you keep that baby in tune better year round!

Best recommendation:
Purchase a heavy duty humidifier with 1000+ square footage coverage and run it semi near your piano. Priced around $100 in stores it's one of the best house hold investments you can make. Keep your humidity above 40% in the room the piano is located.

OLD SCHOOL METHOD!! (As pictured.)
When the heat is on in your house keep a open container with about one liter of water inside a upright pianos cabinet, or underneath a grand piano's sound board as shown in the picture. Check the water bi-weekly and change it out with fresh water.

Grand Pianos & Dry Winter locations:
Grand pianos located in very dry locations (central heating, fire places, wood stoves, ect.) lose pin torque fast. (A.k.a. that piano that doesn't hold tune long.) Keeping the lid closed between playing helps. Buying a room humidifier will reverse the effect and keep your piano happy and in tune!! Old, new, or young your piano needs the moisture for the season!
