This Decker Brothers parlor grand was constructed in 1889, and in that era was considered one of the best for its time. It was carefully restored about 12 years ago. It's a gorgeous instrument that would be perfect for the accomplished pianist & musical hobbyist with an appreciation of history and luxury.
The piano's structure and length (6'11" long) give the notes a bright multidimensionality and allow the sound to truly resonate. It's definitely a show piece. It is a perfect instrument to do justice to dramatic works requiring projection. It would also be a good choice as an accompanying instrument for an orchestral ensemble or large choir. It is a treasure that belongs in a spacious, temperature controlled setting, such as a sanctuary, a concert hall, or a museum. Now that we have downsized, it is too large and loud for our modest living room.
