For sale is a vintage exterior mirror from a friend’s long-time Porsche 356 collection.
This is a classic Talbot / Durant-style bullet mirror, the type commonly sold as a dealer accessory for Porsche in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
These mirrors were frequently installed on Porsche 356A and 356B models, and were also period-correct accessories for early Porsche 911 and 912 cars.
Two details collectors will appreciate:
• The original yellow gasket between the mirror glass and housing is still present. This yellow gasket is a distinctive feature seen on many early Porsche accessory mirrors and is often missing on reproductions.
• The back of the mirror head carries a “Made in Germany” stamping, confirming period German manufacture.
Condition
Mirror glass is excellent clear and not cloudy
Chrome housing presents nicely with normal age-related patina
Mounting base and studs intact
