We are now looking for an experienced part-time Procurement Specialist to work out of our Brookfield, CT location. Although this is a Part-time position to start, we are hoping that this individual will quickly move into a full-time role as the company expands. The Procurement/Purchasing specialist will be responsible for finding and securing high quality vendors for the parts and components that we need to purchase to build and assemble our medical device.
This position will qualify these vendors, so they help maintain our high quality of standards. This may involve some travel to inspect these facilities to ensure their in-house capability to produce parts at our level of satisfaction but to be confident they can handle our volume of parts needed.
This department will also oversee issuing purchase orders for parts and components and will work directly with Material Handling and Inventory control to ensure a proper flow of parts through the production of our device. Multiple vendors per part or component are a must and working to reduce spending and costs for these parts is a high priority.
The contractor will help in these areas:
Qualifies vendors and suppliers
Develops partnerships with multiple vendors to ensure the highest quality possible
Controls and maintains First Article Inspections
Controls and Maintains Certificates of Conformance
Works directly with Material Handling and Inventory control
Works with Engineering to help maintain proper documentation on prints for vendors
Issues Purchase Orders
Negotiates terms for payments to vendors
Negotiates Blanket orders and releases with vendors
Negotiates early payment credits
Participates in development and implementation of ERP system
Looking for self-motivated individual to help locate and develop partnerships to procure
machined components, Injection molds, PCB’s, Hardware, Cable assemblies etc. Must be able
to help in all departments of fast-growing lower extremity rehabilitation device company as it
grows and expands into industry leader.
