~Make a Difference in the Lives of Others~

Volunteers play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of Griffin Health. Many of Griffin's essential Planetree Programs and Services would not be possible without the help of our dedicated corps of volunteers. As part of Griffin's commitment to the Planetree Patient-Centered Model of Care, our volunteers lend a helping hand by providing hospitality amenities and support services which allow individuals to utilize their skills, friendships, care and compassion to provide a comfortable and healing environment for patients.

Griffin is currently looking for adults who are available mornings and afternoons for a minimum of two hours per week. All volunteers must be comfortable with patients, sensitive to their needs, and possess good interpersonal skills. Volunteer opportunities are not available on a seasonal basis - all of our volunteers are required to come in weekly throughout the year in order to meet the minimum hourly commitment.

To apply, download the application at griffinhealth.org/volunteer or pick up an application at the Griffin Hospital Information Desk at 130 Division Street, Derby.
Acceptance and placement as a volunteer is not guaranteed to any applicant.
Upon acceptance to the program, applicants must complete medical requirements (health assessment, have a TB blood test and a yearly flu vaccine). A background check will be conducted. After all requirements are fulfilled, you will be scheduled for a two hour Volunteer Orientation.
