The Olin Neuropsychiatry Research Center at the Institute of Living /Hartford Hospital is interested in studying individuals for an fMRI study who have a history of alcoholism in their family. Qualifying participants (between the ages of 18 and 35) will be asked to come in for three separate days: one 4-5 hour screening visit as well as two research visits lasting approximately 7 hours. During each research visit, you will be administered either a placebo (non-active substance) or 125 mg dose of Saracatinib. Saracatinib has been used in previous research studies, but is the same type of drug expected to play a role in alcoholism therapy.
Participants will be compensated $20 an hour for their time, and are given the opportunity to win more money on our computerized assessments.
