FOUND CAT
(disclaimer my phone broke yesterday morning so if I missed calls and texts I am so sorry)
Thank you to everyone who helped me in my efforts of finding my beloved cat Christopher. I really felt an overwhelming sense of community, love, and support in this group, online, and in person. I was not expecting so much compassion and support from strangers. I moved to Connecticut Sept of 2023 from the west coast and had a hard time adjusting and had a really hard time making friends. I felt like such an outsider but I have felt so much community, kindness, and love by all of you and my neighbors.
My phone broke yesterday morning and I was beyond distraught trying to find ways to fix it at home but was unsuccessfulI. I used a burner phone number on all of the flyers that was connected to my phone and it felt like everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong. I cried and cried because now if someone called or texted me if they found him or had him I wouldn't have known. However there is a HUGE silver lining , if it weren't for my phone breaking I would have been outside looking for him. As a woman alone roaming the streets day and night, talking to strangers, and going door to door I wouldn't have felt safe without a means of communication. It devastated me to think I was at home when I could be out there looking for him- when really I was where I needed to be because he walked in through the window late last night, meowing, well more like yelling at me to let me know he had found his way home.
I had left the window from his escape open day and night in hopes that maybe he would find his way home and I had taken everyones advice on how to make scent trails and to leave items outside the window so that he could smell his way home which I believe he did. He was scared, shaking, and hungry. I want to thank my boyfriends family for watching my other cat so I could leave the window open without worrying about his sister escaping.
Once again thank you to everyone of you!
